On The "Global Speak One Official, Universal And World-Standard
MANDARIN CHINESE Language Project"
There will come a time in the very near future ...
when globally, everyone, everywhere shall speak one
"universal version
of the MANDARIN Chinese Language" (the Official Mandarin Chinese Language of the
People's Republic of CHINA - PRC).
Very soon, everyone, everywhere worldwide
will be able to converse clearly, effectively & smoothly with one another using
one universal, official and "world-standard" version of the beautiful
Mandarin Chinese language.
The "Global Speak ONE Mandarin Project"
is doing our utmost best to contribute our efforts to this
noble cause. We want to make it possible for this generation
to be around to witness this historical evolution of the Chinese languages.
The many varied "localized (localised; regionalised)"
versions of the Mandarin Chinese language currently spoken all over the world,
will iron out their differences, and to finally
come together from their divergences and to unite under one correct,
accurate and universal "official" world-standard
MANDARIN CHINESE Language.
We can make it happen ... you and us!
We can all do our parts and contribute our efforts.
There's no doubt about it because this is the only logical, practical and
effective path for the Mandarin Chinese language in the 21st century (C21).
The Mandarin Chinese language originated from the Chinese but meant for the
world (and everyone in it).
Speaking one (1) universal Mandarin is the fastest,
easiest and most effective
way to help as many people as possible to learn and master
the Mandarin Chinese language with ease, regardless of the person's
race, nationality, mother-tongue, gender, age or belief!
Everyone can master the Mandarin Chinese language
effectively & easily through the "Universal Official Mandarin".
The "UniversalMandarin.Com
Speak One Mandarin Chinese Language Worldwide Project"
is a very important worldwide collaboration between
Mandarin Chinese language experts, consultants, researchers,
instructors, teachers, linguists, sinologists, enthusiasts, students, etc.
Our Mission - The Mission of UniversalMandarin.Com
The mission of the
UniversalMandarin.Com
"Speak One Mandarin Globally" Project
is to support, advocate, encourage, motivate and complement the
efforts of the governments, academics, linguists, teachers, professors
and Chinese language
authorities from the People's Republic of China (PRC),
Taiwan (ROC), Hong Kong (SAR), Macau (SAR), Singapore, Malaysia, etc. worldwide
to "standardise (standardize)" the Mandarin Chinese language globally.
Why Learn The Universal, Official & World-Standard MANDARIN CHINESE Language?
As Mandarin Chinese language “LaoShi” (teacher/s) and researchers,
we always advocate speaking only one kind of Mandarin:
the official version of the
Mandarin Chinese language from the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
That is the one and only
UNIVERSAL MANDARIN Chinese language
recognised worldwide.
It is the world standard for Mandarin that everyone who wants to speak the
Chinese language must learn and master.
It is a futile attempt and definitely on the wrong path, if you choose to learn
"localised (localized; regionalized)" Mandarin instead. Very often, we have people
who asked us whether we could teach them "Taiwan Mandarin" or "Shanghai Mandarin".
Why? Just because they are going to either Taiwan (Republic of China) or Shanghai
(in the People’s Republic of China).
It never occur to a lot of people that the
Chinese language of Mandarin
is fast becoming a
widely spoken language all over the world. If you want to speak Mandarin, you have
to learn the official world-standard
UNIVERSAL MANDARIN Chinese language that you can communicate
effectively with any Chinese speaking person anywhere in the world.
A lot of people who choose the "more convenient path" of learning "localised
Mandarin", are in for a lot of frustrations in the future when they realised that
their "localised Mandarin" is so “funny” when they try to communicate with someone
in China (or other parts of the world) who speak the official
Mandarin language of the Chinese.
The same frustrations and embarrassing moments await those who learn localised
versions of the Mandarin Chinese language
like: "Shanghai Mandarin"; "Guangzhou Mandarin";
"HongKong Mandarin; "Taiwan Mandarin";
"Malaysia Mandarin"; "Singapore Mandarin";
etc.
Why?
This is because "localised (localized) Mandarin" or
"regionalised (regionalized) Mandarin" or
"local Mandarin" tend to have
accents, slanks or a mix of words from other local languages or dialects.
For example, many phrases and expressions in the Mandarin Chinese language
in multi-racial and multi-lingual countries like
Malaysia and Singapore are actually "borrowed" from the English language
and other local languages like the Malay language or the Indian language …
all for the sake of "convenience".
When you speak this kind of "mixed-up Mandarin" in these 2 countries,
not many people will notice what's wrong with it.
Why? Because almost everyone speaks that kind of Mandarin.
But what happen when one day you need to go do business or work in China or Taiwan?
All of a sudden you notice the many mistakes and "un-Mandarin" words that you are
so used to. You will be so embarrassed that you will even become
afraid to even speak in Mandarin!
If a person speaks "localised Mandarin", others who speak good Mandarin will have
a bad impression of him / her. At some places and situations, that person might
even be laughed at. People who speak "localised Mandarin" will also have lots of
problems communicating effectively and clearly with one another (if they are from
different parts of the world).
"Localised Mandarin" tend to have a strong "local flavour" and it is greatly
influenced by the most widely spoken local language/s or dialect/s.
For example, even in a predominantly Chinese country like Taiwan (Republic of China),
most of the Taiwanese tend to speak the "Min Nan" or "Fu Jian" Chinese dialect.
So, the Taiwan version of the Mandarin language tend to have a very strong
"Min Nan" flavour in its pronunciations.
At the same time, the "Taiwan Mandarin" language tend to have many additional
"unique words" that are actually translated from the pronunciation of
Japanese words too. And all these unique words are only spoken and applicable in
Taiwan and not elsewhere! See?
Even among the Chinese in China territories like HongKong and Guangzhou,
that mostly speak the "Cantonese" or "Guangdong (Canton)" or "Yue" Chinese dialect,
the same "localised Mandarin" problem also exist.
The "HongKong (Xianggang) Mandarin" or "Guangzhou Mandarin" tend to have a
very strong "Cantonese flavour". When you speak this kind of Mandarin in other
parts of the country or the world, people will find it funny or “weird”. See?
"Localised Mandarin" is a problem that not just countries like
Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore need to tackle.
Even China itself is working hard to address this problem.
In 2005, it was reported in the press that the Shanghai municipal government
pleaded with the Shanghainese to abandon "Shanghai Mandarin",
and they even set a 10-year goal for all Shanghainese to speak proper
official Mandarin Chinese language.
We know it is not easy to switch from speaking "localised Mandarin" to
"official universal Mandarin", but we really have to work hard to do it
because this is the only smart choice.
We simply have no other better options.
In order to communicate effectively in the
Mandarin Chinese language and with all the Chinese-speaking people all over the
world, speaking the universal official world-standard Mandarin Chinese language of
the People's Republic of CHINA (PRC)
is a must. At the end of the day, the ability to speak
GOOD and PROPER Mandarin Chinese language will command the respect of the
Chinese-speaking people all over the world and give anyone that added
"edge" (advantage).
So, if you want to learn the Mandarin Chinese language,
learn the UNIVERSAL official world-standard Mandarin Chinese language
of CHINA. If you want to master the Chinese language whether for business
or leisure, master the UNIVERSAL official Mandarin Chinese language.
Here at UniversalMandarin.Com,
we advocate and want to help you to learn the ONE (1)
"Universal", "Official" and "World-Standard"
MANDARIN CHINESE LANGUAGE.
Good Mandarin. Proper Mandarin. Uptodate Mandarin. Modern Mandarin.
Effective Mandarin. Official Mandarin.
World-Class Mandarin.
Remember: "Very soon, all speakers of the Chinese language will speak
one "universal" MANDARIN CHINESE language
of the People's Republic of CHINA. So if you want to learn to speak
the MANDARIN CHINESE language, you must learn the
official, universal
and world-standard Mandarin Chinese language that everyone can understand,
from China to Taiwan to Hong Kong to Singapore to Malaysia to Australia to Canada to
the USA, etc."
